When placed four suction cups make the climbing wall stay in place. To ensure the best stick the wall should be cleaned and suction cups should be moistened prior to placement. The Hermit Crab Climbing Wall Foraging Cave comes in 3 pieces: the ladder, the cave and 5 suction cups. The ladder easily slides over the front of the cave and the suction cups slide into holes on the frontside of the cave.

I added a moss covering to the exterior and now my hermit crabs enjoy climbing along the exterior rather than hanging out in the interior.
Excellent hidey-hole for hermit crabs. I placed it just above the salt water bowl. I placed some real moss in it to make it soft and cozy.

This seems like a sturdy hide for hermit crabs or small reptiles. The suction cups work well, and the hide itself attaches to the suction cups - no metal involved.The climbing portion hooks onto the edge of the hide. It does seem smaller than I was expecting. The dimensions are based on the outside of the hide rather than the interior, and you won't have jumbo sized hermit crabs going in this.However, it is overall a nice addition and can blend in with a more natural looking habitat.
This is a must have for watching your hermit crabs especially when they're molting. I love my buddies so it's always a pleasure to see them up on the surface so it's been even better now that we can see them when they're under the sand. Perfect size for a 20 gallon tank. Very sturdy. High quality.
