Bought this for my bearded dragon. He is small still so it works and he loves it.
Though this is advertised for hermit crabs, we decided to try 1 with our kid’s miniature/pigmy hamsters. One of them loves to climb everything and everywhere. So we wanted something that would be suitable for their smaller size, could be washed and would be reasonably durable. First off, it is important to note that this is indeed made of plastic. Now, the hamsters haven’t really taken to chewing this, and they are very small in the first place. Still, I’d imagine something like mice or especially gerbils would chew this up in no time. On that basis, I would not recommend it for critters who tend to chew a great deal. For the hermit crabs, however, and these particular hamsters, it’s holding up well.The suction cups are nice, as they enable you to adjust their height and thus how steep it is. This worked well for the hamsters, as they have other things in the cage, so we were able to adjust it to make a climbing level in the tank.Overall, when pet accessories have gotten expensive (sometimes prohibitively so), this is a nice solution at a reasonable price point. Again, I’d remind you that you should always be careful of accessories you get for critters. This wouldn’t be suitable for many others, but for our hamsters and certainly hermit crabs, this is a solid product.
Crabs seem to enjoy it just fine. I love it because it’s easy to clean.
We upgraded our hermit crabs from a small tourist trap setup to a larger tank and wanted to add more enrichment for them. This ladder ramp was a great addition. They started exploring and climbing on it pretty quickly, which was fun to watch.It fits well in the tank, feels sturdy, and gives them something different to interact with instead of just hiding all day. Overall, it’s a simple but effective way to add enrichment and encourage more activity after upgrading their habitat.
This totally exceeded my expectations!!!! The quality is phenomenal- sturdy and easy to clean. My crabs LOVE this climbing toy and it’ll last forever. 10/10 recommend!! Will be buying more from Lucky Critter!
